THE Bastard-Montrachet 2010 of Domaine Leflaive is an exceptional wine, from one of the most prestigious appellations on the Côte de Beaune. This Grand Cru Blanc is developed from the grape variety Chardonnay, which reveals all its nobility on this unique terroir, between the villages of Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet.
The 2010 is a particularly appreciated vintage, with a very beautiful freshness and a beautiful aromatic complexity. This wine has a perfect balance between power, richness and finesse, typical of bastard-mountain. It combines aromas of ripe fruit, white flowers and delicate touches of hazelnut and butter, all with fine minerality and exceptional length.

Terroir and vinification:
THE Bastard-Montrachet is one of the greatest vintages on the Beaune coast, and its exceptional terroir contributes to the exceptional quality of this wine. The vines, cultivated in biodynamics in the Leflaive estate, benefit from a clay-limestone soil which allows Chardonnay to express itself. The harvest is manual and carefully sorted to keep only the best grapes.
Vinification is done in oak barrels, part of which is new (about 25 to 30%), which brings a slight wooded touch while preserving the purity of the fruit. The wine undergoes complete malolactic fermentation, which gives it its roundness and its creamy texture. It is then raised for about 12 to 15 months on its fine lees, which allows it to develop great complexity.
