Piez Saint Christophe - Mondeuse Tradition - 2014- Michel Grisard - Domaine du Prieuré Saint Christophe - 0.75L
THE Domaine Priory Saint-Christophe Tradition Mondeuse 2014 is an emblematic cuvée of the domain, a pure expression of the grape variety World, one of the most characteristic red grape varieties in the Savoy region. Cultivated on altitude terroirs, this cuvée reflects all the know-how of the estate and the richness of the Savoyard terroir.
There World is a local grape renowned for its power, its tannic structure and its spicy aromas. In this cuvée, the SAINT-Christophe Priory Domaine manages to obtain a perfect balance between power and finesse. The grapes were harvested manually and carefully selected. After traditional fermentation, the wine was raised in tanks and oak barrels to provide additional complexity, while preserving the fruit.
Tasting:
-
Dress : The dress is of a beautiful ruby red color, sustained, with purple reflections which announce an intense and concentrated wine.
-
Nose : The nose is aromatic and complex, with aromas of fresh red fruits (blackcurrant, cherry), associated with spicy notes (black pepper, cinnamon) and light floral touches (violet, iris). Shades of liquorice and a hint of smoke enrich this bouquet.
-
Mouth : On the palate, the attack is frank, with a beautiful tannic structure and a well integrated acidity which gives it freshness. The aromas of black fruits, pepper and violet are found, accompanied by spicy and slightly wooded notes. The tannins are present but silky, and the finish is long, with a beautiful persistence, marked by touches of liquorice and ripe fruit.
