Appearance: Deep, dark red with violet reflections
Nose: Intense and wild, with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, black pepper, garrigue, smoke, black olive, and cured meat
Palate: Structured and powerful, with firm, grippy tannins, vibrant acidity, and remarkable depth. Dark fruit is underscored by mineral and spicy notes, typical of Cornas granite
Finish: Long, rustic, and racy, with a smoky and peppery return that hints at a magnificent evolution in the cellar

Founded in the 1950s in Cornas, Domaine Auguste Clape is an absolute benchmark in the northern Rhône. Auguste Clape, a legendary figure, helped restore Cornas’s noble reputation. Today, the family continues the artisanal, no-frills approach, true to tradition. The wine is vinified with whole clusters, using only indigenous yeasts, and aged in old casks, producing a wine that is sincere and firmly rooted in its terroir.
