Léoville Las Cases - 0.75L - 2005 - Chateau Léoville Las Case
Château Léoville Las Cases is a wine estate located in the Saint-Julien appellation of the Bordeaux region in France. The 2005 vintage is considered one of the best ever produced by the field.
The Léoville Las Cases 2005 is produced from an assembly of 69% of Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc. The grapes are harvested by hand and sorted carefully before being vinified in wooden and stainless steel tanks. The wine is then raised for 20 months in French oak barrels, 85% of which are new.
The Léoville Las Cases 2005 has a deep and dark red dress, with intense aromas of ripe black fruit such as blackcurrant, blackberry and cherry, as well as notes of leather, spices, graphite and liquorice. On the palate, the wine is rich and powerful, with a beautiful tannic structure, a balanced acidity and a long finish.
The 2005 vintage was an exceptional vintage in Bordeaux, offering high quality wines with excellent childcare capacity. The Léoville Las Cases 2005 is considered a remarkable wine which can be drunk now with pleasure, but which will reach its peak in the coming years and can be kept for several decades.
