Monthelie - 0.75L - 2016 - Pierre Boisson
The Pierre Boisson estate is a family vineyard located in the town of Meursault, in the Burgundy wine region in France. The "Monthelie" is a red wine produced by this area from grapes cultivated in the Monthelie appellation, which is located just south of the famous Volnay appellation.
The "Monthelie" of Domaine Pierre Boisson is developed from Pinot Noir grapes, the main red grape of Burgundy. The grapes are harvested by hand, rigorously sorted to select only the best fruits, then fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. The wine is then raised in oak barrels for about 12 months before being bottled.
The "Monthelie" is an elegant and delicate red wine, with aromas of fresh red fruits such as cherry and raspberry, as well as spicy and floral notes. On the palate, it is light to the medium body, with fine tannins and lively acidity. It is a wine that goes well with a variety of dishes, including red meats, poultry and cheeses.
The Pierre Boisson estate is considered one of the most respected producers in the region.
